The know-how

Always in the same guideline as offering you a stylish tie with quality silk handmade in the south of Italy! This time the process is a little different, since we are introducing standard measures to our collection.

Gentlemenclover ties are modern and entirely handmade in Italy, without lining and with a hand rolled hem giving them a sartorial spirit.

One 3,35 inch wide to have a predominant silk and one 58 inches or 59 inches long to suit any style. Whether you like the longer side or not!

Our 3-ply ties

Our three-ply ties are folded three times on themselves, without lining. This is the lightest variation because less material is used.

This handmade construction keeps the tie flowing, easy to handle and with which you will easily make beautiful knots.

This is a good solution if you choose a thicker material or for the Spring-Summer season.

The fabric

A silk of a rare fineness

The fabrics are chosen from my workshops, which are supplied directly around Lake Como: we have chosen a silk of a rare fineness (24 mummi) to allow a light tie with a flowing fall.

(the mummy is the unit of weight per square meter, one mummy = 4,31g/m square meter)

Garza Grossa v Garza Fina

The two most common types of Granada ties are Garza Grossa and Garza Fina. A visual and weaving difference. A finer stitch for the “Garza Fina” and a thicker stitch for the “Garza Grossa”.

Also in the choice of construction, the more pleats you tend to choose, the bigger your knot will be. In this case, it is better to choose a more generous construction for the “Fina” and a more classic one for the “Garza”.

We recommend the “Fina” for a more formal outfit while the “Grossa” will have the opposite effect and will go well with a more casual outfit.

Patterns and style tips

Silk Grenadine

The silk grenadine is a rare weaving because it can only be made on old looms dating from the 17th century. It is the most luxurious weaving, as it is made by two workshops in Como.

The silk of grenadine fina garza is one of the most complicated weavings to produce because the manufacturing process is slow and at the same time requires a real know-how.

To wear this pattern well, we recommend a harmonious set; white shirt with pink stripes, which can be combined with one of our pochettes!
