Know-how: our handmade ties made in Italy

One of the peculiarities of our ties? They have no lining: they are therefore exclusively made of silk folded on itself (as well as their woollen trimming). This construction ensures a much more fluid and supple fall. The absence of a lining also allows you to take advantage of our ultra-sophisticated finishes, especially the hand-rolled edges.

It also allows you to make beautiful tie knots, whether you’re a four-in-hand or Windsor enthusiast: making beautiful drops effortlessly will become child’s play.
At the same time, the woollen trimming ensures a consistent fall, to give a beautiful hand to the whole.

One 8.5 cm wide to have a predominant silk and one 58 inches or 59 inches long to suit any style. Whether you like the longer side or not!

The choice of 5-ply

The subject of difference between the constructions, apart from being very personal, is not very obvious when we talk about the choice of a 5-ply or the choice of a 7-ply. Because for us, these two constructions are really similar. However, we note a distinction in the transition from 3-layer to 5-layer.

You have a tie that holds better, that remains light without denigrating the quality of construction. The positive point is added with the choice of not having a lining which gives you a real comfort when wearing it!

The fabric

Named after Joseph-Marie Jacquard, the jacquard texture dates from 1804. The rendering is more textured, with a real relief, takes better the light and allows to highlight the patterns (which are not printed, but restored thanks to a weaving of threads).

If you are looking to differentiate yourself by both texture and pattern, these are the perfect designs for you. To recognise a jacquard fabric, it’s very simple: you will always see the contrasting threads on the reverse side.

Patterns and style tips

Wearing the Medallion tie

According to the official definition, a Medallion design is in the shape of a disc, oval or diamond, always with a central symmetry.

In contrast to our floral ties, which have discreet patterns that could almost be mistaken for plain colours, these have more imposing and much more elaborate designs.

To wear this pattern well, no matter what your choice and colour. We recommend a harmonious ensemble in stripes or light checks; white Puglia shirt, which can be combined with one of our pochettes!
